BOX OFFICE & MARKETING MANAGER
Capital Region Classical (CRC) is seeking a candidate who is passionate about classical music and interested in making a meaningful contribution to the art form with a small, yet prestigious arts organization. The Box Office & Marketing Manager will work directly with the Artistic Director in promoting and strengthening a series of 25 annual chamber music concerts in the Capital Region. The Manager will manage ticketing operations, create and implement promotional efforts, and assist the Director in all aspects of the organization. CRC is currently a two-person team and the candidate must thrive in a multi-tasking environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage ticketing operations: answer phone/email inquiries, process ticket orders, and maintain customer database. Sell onsite tickets at concerts which take place on weekends and some evenings.
Manage promotional efforts: create and implement social media and advertising campaigns, create concert flyers and other printed materials, seek community promotional opportunities, and solicit program book advertising.
Other duties: scan invoices and contributions, assist with mailings, miscellaneous office tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (classical music background preferred) with office experience.
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and conscientious.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work efficiently with minimal management.
- Mastery of Word, Excel with the ability to learn new programs. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop a plus.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time salaried position at a competitive rate per annum with benefits. CRC is an Albany-based organization is a paperless business without office space currently. The Box Office and Marketing Manager will work remotely until space is secured in the coming year, and remote work thereafter will be coordinated with the Artistic Director.

Recent artists have included pianists Emanuel Ax and Mitsuko Uchida, singers Simon Keenlyside and Mark Padmore, and the Belcea, Brentano, and Ebène string quartets, among many others. Its concerts are featured regularly around the country on public radio’s ‘Performance Today’ as well as its weekly radio show ‘Inside the Music’ on WMHT. CRC is led by Derek Delaney, a Juilliard and Yale trained horn player with over twenty years’ experience as an arts administrator at nationally-respected classical music organizations.
